You Waited... Here You Go!

Here are the promised pictures of me in my "spirit gear" but now... you have to imagine this outfit with a STELLAR band jacket over it! Maybe someday I'll get all dressed up pretending like I'm going to a football game and take a picture of my new and improved pep band outfit!

WE WON!

Our football team beat Inglemoor last night, which means WE'RE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS! Who would've guessed after the first two home games that we would come back to win the rest and make it?!?! NOT ME! BUT, I'm super proud of our football team for winning, but I'm incredibly proud of THE BAND! We played incredibly well! To hear us play go to www.myspace.com/rhspep . I'm quite fond of the musical selection they have there, although I was left of the list of people in the band, but I see the large number of others not listed so I can't be too offended, and afterall... it is just myspace! GO BAND!

On another note... there isn't any school today, which is amazing! Other upcoming no school days for me include NOVEMBER 7-14th! WOO WOO! Hoorah for missing a week of school to visit VALERIE! YEAH! I'm so stoked to meet Caroline and to see Eliza, Seth, Rachel, Val and James! It should be a swell experience, although I know makeup work will not be fun for Humanities.

I'm trying to think of what else has happened... I'm one step closer to having my application all done for BYU, I had my interviews with Bishop and Pres. Hilton. Since Pres Hilton faxed the form in instead of mailing, it was received on Tuesday, now I just have to wait for my seminary form and my HS Counselor forms to make it in.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly my essay will be on, but I need to write it before I leave for Vals. I'm still taking suggestions for it, if you have any clever ideas of why I'm unique and they should pick me to go to their school.

Not a whole lot else is goin on... Oh snap, I slept in "late" (10:30) and have now spent a lot of time doing a whole lot of nothing. I need to go to work soon! It's time to file all my invoices and then clean the office, its pretty nasty!

I'm out!

BYU/BYU-I

Well... I was talking to my friend Harrison who goes to BYU and he asked me if I had started applying yet for college. I told him "NO! The application STILL isn't available" so then I went to www.besmart.com just to check, and OH MY GOSH! It said I could start applying for Fall 2007. SO, i transferred funds into my checking account and paid my application fees for both BYU & BYUI. I turned in 3 of the 7 parts of the application... now its down to:
1. My ecclesiastical endorsement
2. My seminary teacher endorsement
3. My High School Counselor endorsement
4. My personal essay

oh... and my transcript, but thats not a numbered part of their list. Uhh... now I need ideas of what I should say in my essay... the question is basically what makes me different from other applicants. What makes me unique? I have NO clue what to say!

SOrry, I'm SUPER excited at the thought of being able to finally apply to BYU. I'm pretty sure I'll be making an annoucement in seminary tomorrow!

That special day again :D

Why hello! Once more it is my favorite day of the week, the day that I sit at a desk for 8 hours doing homework/answering phones! The phones aren't too busy today which is slightly nice, as I have a hugemongous test to be studying for! That's right... we're FINALLY done reading Sophie's World and have our philosophy test on Monday. It should be a thrilling experienec to have this test over. The majority of my class is really worried for this test, it is going to be incredibly hard, although with the 8 hours I have to study today, I should be able to cram a lot of somewhat interesting information into my head.

It's been a rather uneventful week with mom gone visiting Grandma and Grandpa. I pretty much haven't been home since she left... with school, work, babysitting, and watching The Office at Rachel's house. Dad was sad when he heard I had work AND babysitting today, with only 1.5 hours in between, and that includes the driving home and driving to Sammamish. Pretty sure I won't be home much at ALL today. The important thing is that I have all of my philosophy notes in the car, so lots of studying will get done.

Last November I started an independent study health class through BYU, I finally requested my final yesterday, I need to take it in the next week and a half or so, dang my procrastination skills. Last night as I was babysitting I was reviewing Health and the first lesson was a lot about stress, it's super funny to see how much stress I've acquired since I originally did the lesson. There was a super duper stress test... if you scored below 150 you had "normal amounts of stress" between 150-300 you might be feeling more stressed... and if your score was above 300 you have severe stress. well, guess where I fell in that range. My score was 478... I'd say thats a lot of stress, atleast as far as that stress test proves. School was what gave me the most points on that test, having just started a new year, starting new classes, and applying for college... yay for being a Senior!

Well... that pretty much wraps up my week. Hopefully after next Monday my stress will go down, Sophie's World has been a huge pain in the butt for the last month.

Homecoming...

So, last night was our Homecoming Football game against Juanita. Lets just say... we scored 3 timse in the first quarter, and twice more later in the game. They scored ONCE! WE WON OUR FIRST HOME GAME! It was so incredible! And, for the first time in my high school career, it didn't rain during the homecoming game!!!!!!!

Dennis Bounds from the news station (i don't remember which one) was there to announce the royalty and such... the band had a 40% chance that one of our members would be king, and it happened.. Tyler is homecoming king, being the first band kid in a long time to be king! YAY BAND!

With that all said, I'm super excited to spend homecoming at home with some girls from seminary, since none of us are going to the dance. It should be killer! WOOWOO!

I've been at work only 1 hour, and I've already gotten 2 jobs, it probably helped that I checked the voicemail so I got to call people back and take their jobs, YAY for checking voicemail!

lo siento

I hate to bring bad news, but there were NO pictures of my infection taken, and by the time I read Janyse's comment asking for a pic, my infection was nearly gone. Oh how I love antibiotics! As for Vals comment, we (being the doctor at urgent care and mom and I) believe the infection had something to do with my oboe... since the worst part of the infection was right in the center of my lip where my reeds normally go... all we can figure is that I played an old read that had some nasty bacteria in it and if thats not the case, who knows how I got the infection. Important thing is, it's pretty much back to normal now!

School is pretty lame, nothing exciting has happened recently except that preschool started this week! I love our little buddies so much, they're pretty much the cutest ever! At recess today we had chalk out and one little girl asked one of the other big buddies to draw a picture of Jesus for her, and she was super serious. The best part was, she's not 1 of the 7 members of the church. We all just about died laughing, although we had to wait til we were leaving for our next class, can't let the little kids see us laugh at them or anything! Oh how I LOVE child psych!

Honestly there is nothing else exciting to report... homecoming is this week, and like the majority of the girls from my seminary class, I'll be at home with the fam while just about the rest of our school is out partying it up. Yay for not having homecoming dates....

Happy Tuesday!

So, I thought I'd be SUPER RANDOM and blog on a Tuesday... sounded like fun as I was sitting on the couch watching Sesame Street and eating yogurt. Yes, that sounds a little ridiculous (I still don't know how to spell that word) for an almost 18 year old, but Sesame Street is the best thing on tv right now, and I don't want to work on homework. Now, you may be asking what I'm doing at home on a Tuesday at 10:50 in the morning.... and that is a fun story!

About Thursday last week I started having this funky lip problem, I didn't know what it was, I just knew my lips were SUPER raw, especially where my oboe reed would normally be. So I didn't think too much of it until yesterday when it still wasn't getting better regardless of the massive amounts of vaseline, bag balm, and chapstick i had applied. It got to the point where it just hurt. SO, mom called the ortho and the dentist to describe what was going on and how to fix it. Unfortuantely, Lee didn't have any idea, so then it was on to Dr. Roos. Someone who answered the phone said it sounded like what her son gets right before he gets strep throat.

SO THEN... this morning I wake up and my throat hurt super bad, which isn't good... preschool just started yesterday and I NEED to be there! So, I went to seminary and then came home. Mom and I went to Urgent Care when they opened at 9:00, and I found out I have a Bacterial Infection on my lip... its super gross. So now I"m on antibiotics. I have to throw away some oboe reeds and my chapstick. I'm sad to see my reeds go, they're like $13 each and I always need to have 3. I am SUPER excited to throw away my chapstick though, because now I get to go buy new chapstick, and I"ve been DYING to go buy the Cinderella chapstick that Target has. Oh boy! I'm so happy

The Dr. said to eat yogurt when I take my pills, so mom and I went to QFC while we waited for my prescription and bought lots of yogurt! It hurts to laugh or smile, so anytime mom says/does something silly I say "You can't do that! I have a bacterial infection!" It's pretty much the best thing ever!

Now that I've written all about my uber cool but no cool infection on my lip, I'm going to go see if anything cool is on TV now that it's 11:00.

This is possibly the coolest post I've EVER written!

I'll put my super cool pictures from the football game up later... I have to upload them first, and I don't know where my cord is right now.
