BAND IS NOT OVER!

Well... thanks to an AMAZING game against Mountain View, Band is not over anymore! The boys team made it to STATE, so I have atleast ONE more PEP BAND GAME! AND... I'll get to miss school for it! Could life get any better? Tonight was so perfect! For once, I got to storm the court after the game with the superfans because I wasn't in the band, and I got to do all the superfan traditions, along with some of my favorite band traditions that I just can't give up.

I am so happy that I don't think I'll even be able to fall asleep tonight! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

May the basketball team do well, so band can go on!

Saturday once more!

Hey all! So I got to work today to find a few big surprises...

1. The office across the parking lot that we're trying to move into has a moving truck in front of it, are the current tenants actually moving? I hope so!

2. BRAND SPANKIN NEW COMPUTERS were on Katie & Maryann's desks. Oh boy, I love them already! The keyboards are amazing and don't stick which is perfect for blogging and will come in handy when I work on my CP paper later this morning.

3. Mitch was already here! Mitch is my bosses son-in-law who comes to do the taxes for the company. He's been here every Saturday since the end of December working on our financial things. It was fun to have him already here when he got here.

4. TimeWolf (our clocking in system) wasn't installed on Katie's computer (the desk I sit at) so I had to go use Maryann's computer, which was AMAZING because her keyboard finally works.... she was the one with the really bad keybaord before

5. Our internet seems to be MUCH faster now!

Basically, work today will be INCREDIBLE!!! except... there are no speakers set up to the computers yet, so I won't be watching the latest episode of The Office which I missed because I was studying for my Government Test. That reminds me... yesterday Syd & I did a presentation in Gov that was supposed to be 3-5 minutes or so. Our topic was Cooperative Federalism, so it was all about MONEY! We had a tug-a-war to represent the consistant battle for power between the National and Local governments, and then we had made an overhead transparency with all the rest of our main points. Lets just say... Mr. Cassidy LOVED it! (I know that because I asked him about it when I was taking my make-up test after school) Pretty much, we got an A+++ because Syd & I rock! Oh mylanta, it was so much fun. I hope we do more presentations with partners this semester, because Syd & I will work together and make amazing presentations. Everybody else had just worked on them individually and hoped that them and their partner had come up with different information, and then they all just sat at their desks to teach it to us. We jumped up when he called our names and went to the front to use his overhead, I think he liked how prepared we were! I think he really likes me and Syd, which is FANTASTIC! I'm sensing a really good grade in his class.

As I said in my post last night, if I got far enough into my CP essay I am going to the game tonight, and I think that with as far as I got last night (2 pages into my 6 page findings section) and as far as I'm hoping to get into it today at work (atleast another 2 pages) I should be set to go to the game. PLUS, the game isn't until 8:00, so I have time after work to work on my essay a little more. Maybe my findings section will be all done and I will only have my conclusion left. That could be way good! I'm feeling really good with this project now, it's almost done. Presentations are May 16, but everything else will be done by the end of March. Our essay is due for the first time on March 6th, but then our teachers will grade them against the rubric and if we need to do a lot to change it, I think we have until the end of March, or maybe April to fix our essay so it will pass. I'm so excited to think that this is almost done, and that then I can just take pictures for fun, not as part of my CP.

Well... I don't really know what to do now, I was going to watch The Office til about 8:30 and then start doing my homework after our Techs had come and gone, but without speakers that plan is pretty much shot. Maybe I'll just start early and give myself a break later to play games or something. Oh mylanta, I love this computer! Yay!!!

13-Man Band

Well... our Boys Basketball Team made it farther in the playoffs than I expected (I actually didn't know we had made it into playoffs) and tonight we had a game against... THE OTHER SCHOOL! We won, 53-50, it was AMAZING! I think we won because we had a 13 man Pep Band, basically the best EVER! With our lack of instrumentation, we barely could play anything, but it was the most fun I've ever had a game! Tomorrow night is the last "playoff" game, WINNER TO STATE! I hope to heck that we win the game tomorrow so the band can go to state, that is always SO much fun!

Other fun news.......... my CP essay is due in 10 days, and my final product (portfolio of pictures of pauls kids) is due in 7. AND... I haven't started putting my portfolio together, and have atleast 7 pages left of my essay! HOORAY FOR PROCRASTINATION! Well... it's only 7:49 on Friday night, so if I get to work now on my essay, I'll probably get to go to the game tomorrow night at Juanita! AND... I'm going to a concert with Jenna & Tyler in 51 days, I'm super excited!!!!

So I'm a bit lame...

After I posted my last post, I got this great idea! Well more like... it's an idea I have all the time when I'm babysitting here... P&J are almost always logged on to MSN Messenger 7.0 which leaves me to be able to log onto Windows Messenger. With me logged on and them logged on, and me having control over both of the accounts practically... tonight I caved in and had a short conversation with myself. Now, it was interesting... Mostly I was commenting on the time delay as I would send messages to "them". From them to me was pretty fast, almost instant. But it took a lot longer for my messages to get to them, especially the initial message I sent, a friendly hullo! Here is my very lame and very short conversation I had with myself:
(obviously I am "i should have a conversation with myself... that could be entertaining" and they are "J&P)

i should have a conversation with myself... that could be entertaining says:
why hello!
J&Psays:
wow, that was super delayed
i should have a conversation with myself... that could be entertaining says:
this is horrible! i can't stand this
J&P says:
that was fast
i should have a conversation with myself... that could be entertaining says:
and again... that was slow
J&P says:
i guess i just receive messages faster than you do!
J&P says:
it must be because i'm on messenger 7.0
i should have a conversation with myself... that could be entertaining says:
hmmm... i think one of my messages didn't get sent
i should have a conversation with myself... that could be entertaining says:
then again, maybe it did
J&P says:
wow, this is possibly the lamest thing i have EVER done!

basically... this is what i do when i babysit. and this is why i should stop

Twice in one day!

Well... I'm back! Now that I'm done with work, and at Paul's house, I'm on a computer that is more than slightly functional. The computer I was on at work is horrible, well mostly the keyboard is. You have to push the spacebar REALLY hard, and then sometimes, the letter "m" doesn't work, and that's unfortunate!

So I have a story to tell you all, a very important story. I got home from work today and dads car was gone. Mom and dad were gone as well. Now, there was no note saying where they were or when they would be home. The calendar only said "M tend PKRT @ 6:45" and then some "10:00 rehersal". Clearly, at 4:15 none of these events were still happening. After sitting for a while thinking that maybe they'd come home, I thought to myself "Hmmm, maybe I should call their cell phones and see where the are." Now, knowing mom and dad, I assumed that moms phone would be dead and that dads phone would either be on his dresser or on the counter in the bathroom. Needless to say, I was right. Calling them did no good, so instead, I got online and was talking to Syd. I complained "I DON'T KNOW WHERE MY FAMILY IS!" and then proceeded to not talk while I was freaking out. Meanwhile, my favorite playlist on iTunes just happened to start playing and I was finally calming down a bit. Mom, realizing that I was home and had no clue where they were, went to a phone, not her own of course because it was dead, and told me that they were at the church and that they'd be home "soon". Moral of the story... if you leave your house and know that your kids will come home while you are gone either: leave them a note or have your cell phone on so they can call you. It also would've been nice if there had been a message on the phone, or on my phone... hmmmm, anywho, I'm not freaked out anymore because I know where they were. Now, if I get home from babysitting and they aren't home, I'll start the whole freaking out process ALL OVER AGAIN! and that won't be fun!

On a whole other level, it's Mid-Winter Break officially and guess what I'll be doing........ HOMEWORK!

Pre-College Writing: a reading assignment on the television and answering some questions
Band: Like I ever do any band "homework"
Gov: studying for the test I missed; starting to take notes on the next chapter
Aerobics: hmmm... maybe I'll take a spin on the treadmill or if it's nice, maybe I'll go running...
Peer Coaching: No homework, nope... none... ever!
Creative Writing: Looking at the carpet and writing about it; analyzing a quote; writing 5 of my own quotes
Senior Project: Creating my portfolio (aka, a scrapbook of PKR&T) as well as writing atleast 6 pages of my final essay...

wow, that sounds like it will be a VERY FUN break! If only I had been a little more productive on those two days I was sick.

I don't know why, but this keyboard is hurting my thumb, and my arm hurts too. Maybe it's because the keyboard is lower than the keyboard at home. I'll have to look into this one! Well everyone, tata for now! I think I did a sufficient job of blogging, making up for the weak post I wrote at work.

Saturday!

Well... I could've posted all day Thursday or Friday while I was at home laying on the couch, but I never really got around to it. So now, at 1:13 on a Saturday I sit at my desk at TDW and blog. I don't have much to blog about, but whatelse is new? So I was sick Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, but now i'm pretty much better. That meant I got to start my mid-winter break a few days early, and I now get 7 days off! It's so exciting.

What else is new... hmmm, I honestly can't think of anything else worth blogging about, I'm just THAT exciting! Maybe next week I'll have something good to say.

Love to you all!

Nettie did this… and I thought it was super cool, so because I had to be as cool as Nettie, a person I have never met, I had to do it as well! Happy Birthdays!

Well... yesterday after I commented on Val's LOVELY picture of her foot, I realized that I had forgotten to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! So Val, Happy B-day yesterday! In government when class starts he always asks us "What happened today in history?" and I answered "MY SISTER WAS BORN!" and then we had a lovely discussion about how I have so many family members (Paige's birthday recently, and my friend Hillary's bday last week...) it was exciting.

On another note, it's Brad's bday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAD not like he'll ever read this since he doesn't have internet access and also doesn't know about my blog. But nonetheless... happy birthday!

I sit here at work, playing Bejeweled and drinking my very large drink from Taco Bell. Oh how I love that place. YUMMMM! On another positive note, work today has been off the wall. By 11:00 I had answered 22 phone calls, but since then I've only received 6. I've gotten 4 jobs, boy oh boy!

I've recently started paying attention on iTunes when they recommend albums/artists/songs to me based on previous purchases. From this I have found a few bands that I now like, I love finding new music and introducing it to my friends. This weeks tops have been Making April and My Favorite Highway. I also found Jamestown Story, but they aren't on iTunes, at least not as far as I can find, I don't really know how I found them, I think it was a total accident! But anywho, I love them! Oh boy!

Not too much has happened this week, but Pep Band officially ended, unless our boys basketball team gets far enough into playoffs that the band is allowed to play again. I almost cried as I said goodbye to my seat on the bleachers, it was a hard night. The girls lost, they gave the band pizza, and then the boys team played & beat LW. I don't know what to do on my Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday nights now that Pep Band is done. Even more importantly though, I don't know what I"ll do if I NEVER play You Can Call Me Al or The Impression That I Get again... then of course there is "YOu Dropped a Bomb on Me" and "Tear the Roof off the Sucker" and who could ever forget singing/playing "HEY BABY!" aka "HEY KATIE!" oh how I love pep band, I even LOVE our lime green iBand shirts. Wow, I didn't think I would ever be this sad about Pep Band... I'm pathetic.
