hmmm

happy saturday! well... i'm sitting here in a full office! katie, megan, and annica are all here... it's SO much fun! oh mylanta! i've never loved work this much before in my entire life! It's pretty much the coolest thing ever. I'm "training" annica today, aka... she's sitting in a chair listening to us talk to customers. I did teach her about the board and our maps and stuff a little... this is more training than I got my first day!

it's pretty crazy! New Years Eve dance tonight... even though its not new years eve! but, it should be pretty sick! Meg and Jen are coming! I'm so excited! i'm trying to decide if i'm going to wear my spiderman shirt, or if i'm going to attempt to look cute... hmmmm

I'M BACK!

So, the last week has been highly traumatic for me... 120 hours of no power pretty much sucked. I couldn't blog, or view everybody elses blogs, and everybody else had pictures! I was super excited though to come back onto the computer and see pictures of almost everybody! Oh man alive! Another tragedy without power was that I couldn't get onto iTunes, yeah... not a huge deal to most, but I had a gift card I wanted to use. So last night I went iTunes crazy, I loved it!

Wow... I really don't even know what to say at this point, OH! MEGAN COMES HOME TONIGHT! I am so freakishly excited, you have NO idea! It's been 4 months since I've seen her, I can't wait to do some crazy things with her, like go to Taco Bell, and ride Champion at Crossroads Mall. Who knows what other crazy things we'll do while she's home, but it's going to be GREAT!

Well everyone... I'm not cool enough to have pictures to post, maybe I'll work on that a little. :D

Exciting!

To make what could be a long story short, I GOT ACCEPTED TO BYU!

I got my letter yesterday and was super excited... oh man! Just a little more than 8 months and I'll be headed off to the Y! I called Megan before anybody else and we had a little screaming fest, oh I love Megan! All this happened on the way to the 5th Avenue to see White Christmas with mom. They added a bunch of new songs, I'm not sure how I felt about them. I liked the songs, but I guess I like the movie too much! It was really different and I had to stay on my toes.

Nothing else too exciting is going on... 5 more days of school before Christmas Break. In the next 5 days I have to:

-write the research process for my senior project
-watch Phantom of the Opera
-write a compare/contrast essay of Phantom of the Opera & The King and I
-write an observation about a kid in the preschool
-begin working on a small ensemble piece for band
-answer like 20 questions based on the Phantom website

plus the normal: work, young womens, pep band, babysitting... possibly doing something with friends. Wednesday night will be fun, it's Mr. Mustang up at the school, it should be a swell night. I hope it's as funny as last year when this guy dressed up half as Jasmine and half as Aladdin. Oh boy, good times!

Well... I should probably start really buckling down and writing my research process for CP. I think the deadline is 3.5 hours away, yuck! I don't like these midnight deadlines on Sundays. POO on the school for that one!

SNOW!

Well friends, it SNOWED! I love snow so much, we haven't had school for two days now! I was really excited that there isn't school today, I was supposed to go to remidiation (basically a 1.5 hour detention) because they claim I turned part of my senior project in late. Well, I was going to have a hard time getting out of that, but amazingly... NO SCHOOL!

I went out and made a snow angel on Monday night (when it really started snowing). And yesterday I went out and threw snow up in the air so I could look really cool. It's hard to have a snowball fight by yourself, trust me! I ended up throwing snow balls at a tree, my car, and the window that mom was standing by. AMAZING!

I finally finished my BYU essay on Saturday... now I just wait! Well everyone, there is still snow, so I'm off. THis is too fun!

Happy Day After Thanksgiving!

Well, it's the day after Thanksgiving, and here I am, sitting behind my desk once more. Today has been a great day, and I've only been here for 40 minutes. There were no messages, but as soon as I turned the phones over someone called, wanting 6 springs changed... thats insane! A few minutes later another guy called wanting 2 springs changed, and he wanted the better spring! This means our technicians are pretty much booked today now, besides Laren, who isn't coming in until 11:00, poo on him! I even had to send Rod out of the office, OH MAN! I've gotten a bunch of wrong numbers, and I even got to talk to a woman in Georgia who wants to move away from Georgia, I'm still not too sure about how she got our number or why she was calling, but she talked to me for about 5 minutes about how great it must be that there is snow up here. I regretfully informed her that we don't have snow right now, and then she was sad for me. It was a thrilling experience. Oh how I love this job! WOOWOO!!!! It'll be a party once Katie gets here in 15 minutes, we're gonna have a superb party, especially if Rod is still out of the office, we can DANCE! or maybe we'll just sit behind our desks and talk like Katie and I always do when we work together. Oh man, I love Katie, she's probably my new favorite person! I'm so excited to work with her today...

On a completely different note... I ate a TON last night for dinner, and a few really good pieces of pie, oh man! I love thanksgiving! I also snuck upstairs for a while with Mara and watched Secondhand Lions, such a good movie! After dinner when we went up to finish it, Aubrey came up and joined us, it was so much fun! The three of us just upstairs sitting on my bed watching a movie, which reminds me... I need to return the DVD player that I borrowed from P&J... hmmmm, I should get on that one!

Hot Cocoa, FHE, and more!

Today has been a grrrreat day! After work I was laying on the couch watching The Da Vinci Code, kind of with dad... but he was asleep. Mom was teaching Paige piano lessons, and then the doorbell rang... it was TYLER! He asked if I wanted some hot cocoa, and said that he had been in the mood to make hot chocolate. When I said SURE! he ran out to his car and brought in boiling water, hot cocoa mix and cups and came into the kitchen to make hot cocoa for me! As he was leaving, he said "now you can say your home teachers came!" and I said.... "oh, I see how it is, and I thought we were friends..." and then he said "when home teachers come to visit, they just talk, but when friends come to visit, they bring hot chocolate!" with that said, he was on his way! It was pretty much hilarious, and super random, but the hot cocoa was super good! yay for Tyler!

FHE was fun! We played games, The Great Dalmuti and Apples to Apples. Dad was the Dalmuti for WAY too long, and then Dean dethroned him. We switched games at that point. Apples to Apples is most definitely my favorite game, and I almost won, I don't know how Jen got 7 cards, I think when I wasn't watching she stole some from the pile ;) We ate brownies that were really good and had a little time to talk. While we were playing, Shelly's card was chosen for the word "obnoxious" and once she won she grabbed the card and held it up and said "I WON OBNOXIOUS" really obnoxiously, it was pretty much PERFECT! I can't lie, it was hilarious!

I don't know what the more was that I mentioned in the title... but its 8:43 and I'm gonna go to bed! Happy Thanksgiving in like 3 days, I can't wait for turkey & stuffing & PUMPKIN PIE!

11.18.2006

it's been a while!

Well... happy Saturday to all! It's been two weeks since my last post, mostly because I wasn't at work last Saturday with extra time to do so. So much has happened that I could write about, I don't even know where to start! I guess I'll start with vacation!

Tuesday, the 7th mom, dad and I went to Virginia to visit Val & James and the kids. It was possibly the coolest trip I've ever been on. The airplane right was super long but I found ways to pass the time. Wednesday we went into DC and went to the Holocaust Museum and to visit the Lincoln, Washington, WWII, Korean War & Vietnam War memorials. Thursday we went to Monticello to Jefferson's house, that was REALLY cool! That night was a BYU Football game (atleast I think it was Thursday?). BYU basically whooped Wyoming, 55-7. I wore my new I heart BYU shirt that Meg gave me for my bday, I think thats why they won. Only the girls watched the entire game, the guys all wimped out and went to bed during the 4th quarter. I love BYU football! Friday the kids didn't have school so we went to the park, it was so nice outside! We had KFC for lunch, I LOVE chicken, then mom, dad & I left all the Peterson's and went ot Manassas to see the battle site. For dinner we went to Five Guys, that was the BEST hamburger I have ever enjoyed in my entire life, oh man was it great! Saturday Eliza had tennis, Seth had soccer, and then was the baptism! It was incredible, like baptisms should be, I loved it! Afterwards we went to Outback for dinner, where Rachel proceeded to baptize her french fries, because they were 8 years old. Oh man, she's a cutie patootie! Sunday was church, and oh man, I loved church! I met some interesting people in Sunday School, along with maybe two hilarious people. Caroline got blessed, and she didn't cry, I love it when the kid doesn't cry. Monday we went back into DC and went to parts of the Smithsonian. We started at the castle (vistor center) and then went to the Museum of Natural History. After that we went to the AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM! That was my favorite museum, I now want to be a pilot or an astronaut, well, atleast I wanted to when I was there. After that we went to Arlington Cemetary and went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. We watched the change of the guard, that was an amazing ceremony. After that, we drove up to Maryland to the DC temple. We went to the Visitor Center and they gave us a private showing of the Joseph Smith movie, lets just say i LOVE that movie! Then... Tuesday we went to FIVE GUYS AGAIN! woo woo, I LOVE that place. Then it was off to the airport. We got home and I went to bed, man I was tired.

Now... that pretty much sums up my trip, it was INCREDIBLE! I want to go back and do more of the Smithsonian, there are SO many different parts to it. But for now, I'll just sit at my desk where I am debating on what to work on. I have my BYU essay written out, I just need to edit it, but I also am giving a talk in church tomorrow on Charity and I need to start writing that.... So much to do, so much time, I don't even know where to begin... :D

Happy Birthday... to ME!

Before I start goin on about my birthday... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRANDON! It was his birthday on Friday. ALSO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROTHER GASSER! He and I are super cool birthday sharing buddies... so happy birthday to us all!

Yesterday was the beginning of my birthday weekend! We celebrated in Seminary after I told my super cool stories of great great grandpa Duckworth! We ate cookies and played games, and they sang, SO PERFECTLY! School was pretty tight, I shared cookies with a lot of people.

After school I went to work, and then I interviewed a photographer for my senior project. THEN... Steph came and took me out to dinner (Las Margaritas) where I wore their sombrero and they sang to me! We then went to the art museum by bell square so I could do a review for my humanities class. THEN we hit up bell square, I bought a new brush for my makeup at the bare minerals store, but only because it's the month of my birthday and I got a discount! Then steph and I came back to our house and watched Over the Hedge, or atleast most of it. I fell asleep part way through, and so did she, so I don't know how far we got. She woke up and went home and then I went up to bed.

Today is where it gets exciting... at 6:32 (after I woke up at 6:30) I got a text message from Tyler saying Happy Birthday! So after I texted him back and told him thanks, but that he should still be sleeping, he texted me back to see if I had already had breakfast. At about 6:40 he called to ask me to come open the front door! He had brought me a most excellent pancake, apple sauce, peaches, and hot cocoa breakfast! The best part was, the pancakes were shaped like Sister Wendy's teeth! It was a thrilling breakfast, although I'm pretty sure I was half asleep throughout most of it!

Once I got to work, Melissa gave me some flowers, Maryann had left me some candy, and Laren said "oh, happy birthday!" I've since talked to Bryan on the phone, who was disappointed to not have been the first to say happy birthday, and I've talked to Paul, Jeanne, Paige and Katie all online. It's been a thrilling day! It's making me look forward even more to tonight, where I am doing nothing... pretty much the best birthday ever! haha!

totally UNRELATED to my birthday... Today I also signed up for housing for BYU. It opened at 7:00 my time, and I got on at like 7:35. I was number 2000 something, but it only took about an hour for me to get to have my turn. It was exciting to fill out the survey saying that I do like certain types of music and that I don't like other types... it was exciting and a half times ten million! woo woo

Basically.... HAPPY SATURDAY EVERYBODY!

You Waited... Here You Go!

Here are the promised pictures of me in my "spirit gear" but now... you have to imagine this outfit with a STELLAR band jacket over it! Maybe someday I'll get all dressed up pretending like I'm going to a football game and take a picture of my new and improved pep band outfit!

WE WON!

Our football team beat Inglemoor last night, which means WE'RE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS! Who would've guessed after the first two home games that we would come back to win the rest and make it?!?! NOT ME! BUT, I'm super proud of our football team for winning, but I'm incredibly proud of THE BAND! We played incredibly well! To hear us play go to www.myspace.com/rhspep . I'm quite fond of the musical selection they have there, although I was left of the list of people in the band, but I see the large number of others not listed so I can't be too offended, and afterall... it is just myspace! GO BAND!

On another note... there isn't any school today, which is amazing! Other upcoming no school days for me include NOVEMBER 7-14th! WOO WOO! Hoorah for missing a week of school to visit VALERIE! YEAH! I'm so stoked to meet Caroline and to see Eliza, Seth, Rachel, Val and James! It should be a swell experience, although I know makeup work will not be fun for Humanities.

I'm trying to think of what else has happened... I'm one step closer to having my application all done for BYU, I had my interviews with Bishop and Pres. Hilton. Since Pres Hilton faxed the form in instead of mailing, it was received on Tuesday, now I just have to wait for my seminary form and my HS Counselor forms to make it in.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly my essay will be on, but I need to write it before I leave for Vals. I'm still taking suggestions for it, if you have any clever ideas of why I'm unique and they should pick me to go to their school.

Not a whole lot else is goin on... Oh snap, I slept in "late" (10:30) and have now spent a lot of time doing a whole lot of nothing. I need to go to work soon! It's time to file all my invoices and then clean the office, its pretty nasty!

I'm out!

10.18.2006

BYU/BYU-I

Well... I was talking to my friend Harrison who goes to BYU and he asked me if I had started applying yet for college. I told him "NO! The application STILL isn't available" so then I went to www.besmart.com just to check, and OH MY GOSH! It said I could start applying for Fall 2007. SO, i transferred funds into my checking account and paid my application fees for both BYU & BYUI. I turned in 3 of the 7 parts of the application... now its down to:
1. My ecclesiastical endorsement
2. My seminary teacher endorsement
3. My High School Counselor endorsement
4. My personal essay

oh... and my transcript, but thats not a numbered part of their list. Uhh... now I need ideas of what I should say in my essay... the question is basically what makes me different from other applicants. What makes me unique? I have NO clue what to say!

SOrry, I'm SUPER excited at the thought of being able to finally apply to BYU. I'm pretty sure I'll be making an annoucement in seminary tomorrow!

That special day again :D

Why hello! Once more it is my favorite day of the week, the day that I sit at a desk for 8 hours doing homework/answering phones! The phones aren't too busy today which is slightly nice, as I have a hugemongous test to be studying for! That's right... we're FINALLY done reading Sophie's World and have our philosophy test on Monday. It should be a thrilling experienec to have this test over. The majority of my class is really worried for this test, it is going to be incredibly hard, although with the 8 hours I have to study today, I should be able to cram a lot of somewhat interesting information into my head.

It's been a rather uneventful week with mom gone visiting Grandma and Grandpa. I pretty much haven't been home since she left... with school, work, babysitting, and watching The Office at Rachel's house. Dad was sad when he heard I had work AND babysitting today, with only 1.5 hours in between, and that includes the driving home and driving to Sammamish. Pretty sure I won't be home much at ALL today. The important thing is that I have all of my philosophy notes in the car, so lots of studying will get done.

Last November I started an independent study health class through BYU, I finally requested my final yesterday, I need to take it in the next week and a half or so, dang my procrastination skills. Last night as I was babysitting I was reviewing Health and the first lesson was a lot about stress, it's super funny to see how much stress I've acquired since I originally did the lesson. There was a super duper stress test... if you scored below 150 you had "normal amounts of stress" between 150-300 you might be feeling more stressed... and if your score was above 300 you have severe stress. well, guess where I fell in that range. My score was 478... I'd say thats a lot of stress, atleast as far as that stress test proves. School was what gave me the most points on that test, having just started a new year, starting new classes, and applying for college... yay for being a Senior!

Well... that pretty much wraps up my week. Hopefully after next Monday my stress will go down, Sophie's World has been a huge pain in the butt for the last month.

Homecoming...

So, last night was our Homecoming Football game against Juanita. Lets just say... we scored 3 timse in the first quarter, and twice more later in the game. They scored ONCE! WE WON OUR FIRST HOME GAME! It was so incredible! And, for the first time in my high school career, it didn't rain during the homecoming game!!!!!!!

Dennis Bounds from the news station (i don't remember which one) was there to announce the royalty and such... the band had a 40% chance that one of our members would be king, and it happened.. Tyler is homecoming king, being the first band kid in a long time to be king! YAY BAND!

With that all said, I'm super excited to spend homecoming at home with some girls from seminary, since none of us are going to the dance. It should be killer! WOOWOO!

I've been at work only 1 hour, and I've already gotten 2 jobs, it probably helped that I checked the voicemail so I got to call people back and take their jobs, YAY for checking voicemail!

10.05.2006

lo siento

I hate to bring bad news, but there were NO pictures of my infection taken, and by the time I read Janyse's comment asking for a pic, my infection was nearly gone. Oh how I love antibiotics! As for Vals comment, we (being the doctor at urgent care and mom and I) believe the infection had something to do with my oboe... since the worst part of the infection was right in the center of my lip where my reeds normally go... all we can figure is that I played an old read that had some nasty bacteria in it and if thats not the case, who knows how I got the infection. Important thing is, it's pretty much back to normal now!

School is pretty lame, nothing exciting has happened recently except that preschool started this week! I love our little buddies so much, they're pretty much the cutest ever! At recess today we had chalk out and one little girl asked one of the other big buddies to draw a picture of Jesus for her, and she was super serious. The best part was, she's not 1 of the 7 members of the church. We all just about died laughing, although we had to wait til we were leaving for our next class, can't let the little kids see us laugh at them or anything! Oh how I LOVE child psych!

Honestly there is nothing else exciting to report... homecoming is this week, and like the majority of the girls from my seminary class, I'll be at home with the fam while just about the rest of our school is out partying it up. Yay for not having homecoming dates....

10.03.2006

Happy Tuesday!

So, I thought I'd be SUPER RANDOM and blog on a Tuesday... sounded like fun as I was sitting on the couch watching Sesame Street and eating yogurt. Yes, that sounds a little ridiculous (I still don't know how to spell that word) for an almost 18 year old, but Sesame Street is the best thing on tv right now, and I don't want to work on homework. Now, you may be asking what I'm doing at home on a Tuesday at 10:50 in the morning.... and that is a fun story!

About Thursday last week I started having this funky lip problem, I didn't know what it was, I just knew my lips were SUPER raw, especially where my oboe reed would normally be. So I didn't think too much of it until yesterday when it still wasn't getting better regardless of the massive amounts of vaseline, bag balm, and chapstick i had applied. It got to the point where it just hurt. SO, mom called the ortho and the dentist to describe what was going on and how to fix it. Unfortuantely, Lee didn't have any idea, so then it was on to Dr. Roos. Someone who answered the phone said it sounded like what her son gets right before he gets strep throat.

SO THEN... this morning I wake up and my throat hurt super bad, which isn't good... preschool just started yesterday and I NEED to be there! So, I went to seminary and then came home. Mom and I went to Urgent Care when they opened at 9:00, and I found out I have a Bacterial Infection on my lip... its super gross. So now I"m on antibiotics. I have to throw away some oboe reeds and my chapstick. I'm sad to see my reeds go, they're like $13 each and I always need to have 3. I am SUPER excited to throw away my chapstick though, because now I get to go buy new chapstick, and I"ve been DYING to go buy the Cinderella chapstick that Target has. Oh boy! I'm so happy

The Dr. said to eat yogurt when I take my pills, so mom and I went to QFC while we waited for my prescription and bought lots of yogurt! It hurts to laugh or smile, so anytime mom says/does something silly I say "You can't do that! I have a bacterial infection!" It's pretty much the best thing ever!

Now that I've written all about my uber cool but no cool infection on my lip, I'm going to go see if anything cool is on TV now that it's 11:00.

This is possibly the coolest post I've EVER written!

I'll put my super cool pictures from the football game up later... I have to upload them first, and I don't know where my cord is right now.

FOOTBALL GAME!!!

So I said I was going to the game against WHS... and that we were supposed to win because it was an away game and RHS only wins away football games. Well, I got there 2 minutes after it started and the other team had already scored, not a good sign. By the third quarter we (the super fans from RHS) had given up on the chance of us winning, the score was 37-7. SO, we decided to make it super fun, for us, the cheerleaders, and all the RHS parents watching the game. We cheered the entire second half of the game, it was absolutely AMAZING! We did the banana a bunch, our color shout, AND, we sang our fight song about 20 times. Being a super fan was AMAZING! I got all decked out, face paint (half my face green, half yellow), my amazing yellow skirt, lime green soccer jersey, black leggings and my yellow PUMAS! yay for school spirit... too bad we lost. oh well, it was super fun being a super fan anyway!

Guess what day it is!

HOLA! it's saturday and once more i am here sitting at my desk. It's been an unusually slow day, at 1:00 I only answered the phone 7 times, and three of them were hang ups! It just makes my stats look a little better i guess, 2 jobs out of 7 phone calls! I guess two cool things have happened today:
1. There is a workout place across the parking lot. To workout there basically means you are going to workout in the parking lot. This is nice for us in the office here because we get to watch people work out, it's oh so nice. Every Saturday morning there is a woman who comes to work out. Her workout is this: Put baby in stroller, Walk around the parkinglot pushing baby in stroller, Go home. It's amazing! Oh, and she has her personal trainer walking around with her. Thats not the exciting thing though- today I saw a mom and her son go into the "gym" and guess what... they're from my ward! I was so excited to think that I'd get to watch people i know work out, but then i got busy doing data entry so I forgot to watch them.

2. This was an amazingly cool thing that happened. So last week I found an invoice for Les (and yes Val, I was thinking of the nickname you guys had for him when I wrote that... but I didn't think it was quite right to put it on here)... TODAY, I found an invoice for MOM! I was like, FLIP! Thats my mom! I got so excited! end of story.

Weird thing... For the last 4 days my left eye has been twitching. It's really getting annoying. Why does my eye twitch? How can I make the twitch go away? It's really starting to bug me, especially when 1) i'm driving and my eye starts going WACKO, 2) i'm at school reading... thats not good 3) i'm giving a presentation on bagpipes in music history. Oh man, my eye is really starting to bug me.

9.29.2006

The Office

Writing about Megan calling me while I was working reminded me that I needed to write about THE OFFICE! I am SO in love with this show! Jim is by FAR my favorite character, well... Dwight is amazing too, but JIM! He's pretty much a babe and I LOVE him! Everybody needs to watch The Office, it's on Thursdays on NBC. For me it's at 8:30... I freaking LOVE IT! I watch it with Rach & Jess at the bishops house, pretty much the BEST unofficial laurel activity EVER! oh boy...

Well... I'm off to a football game against Woodinville... if their tradition keeps up, we'll win. Apparently our team is only good at away games. :D YAY!

BAGPIPES

Well, I know it's not Saturday yet, but I was in the mood to post! While reading Val's blog I noticed on her list of links it said "Janyse & Dennis" and I got really excited! After about 3 weeks of me telling Janyse to get a blog, SHE DID IT! Now mom will have 3 blogs to read... hoorah! If only we could get the others to join the party too. Speaking of Val's links... I feel like I know James's family super well, and I'm beginning to feel like Morgan is one of my nieces even though she's not! Aren't blogs amazing? oh man!

The purpose of me getting on here today was to write about Music History. We've been working on group projects about the different types of instruments, aerophones, chordophones, idiophones, membranophones and electrophones. My group was assigned to aerophones because my teacher knew that I play two aerophones... well, we concentrated our project on BAGPIPES because a guy in our school plays them. So today for our presentation, we had him come in and play a song for us. It was SO amazing, I think I want to take up the bagpipes now! It was super loud, so the best part was that all these random people kept walking by the room and stopping in front of the door to watch. We had our security guard, parking lot attendant, principal, the band teacher, and like half of the orchestra watching this performance. It was SO flipping sweet! oh mylanta!

On another note... yesterday was AMAZING! Megan called me while I was at work and we talked for almost half an hour. I think the other people in the office thought I was ridiculous because I was on the phone while I kind of did my work, but oh well. I LOVE it!

9.23.2006

Saturday again!

Well... it's Saturday again, so I find myself sitting in front of a computer screen, waiting for the telephone to ring. However... today has been a little busier. It's 1:35 and I still have not played any games, instead I decided to work on the data entry project we're doing so that we can track what ads work. It's pretty crazy, I'm entering invoices from 2004... and guess what i found!!! The next door neighbor (les for those of you who know/care) had his door repaired by TDW! I love finding invoices for people I know, it pretty much makes my day!

This week has been pretty good! I found out that my Essential Question for my Culminating Project passed, my question is "What photography techniques go into creating a picture with personality and emotion; how can I create a photography portfolio that demonstrates these techniques?" well, atleast thats pretty much what my question is, I don't remember it off the top of my head.

This week I also watched Catherine for like 3 days, it was super nice to have 3 pay days in one week! I love having two jobs, and so does my bank account!

On a sad note... RHS lost to THE OTHER SCHOOL (Eastlake for you losers who don't know)... it was pretty bad. Well, not as bad as the Bothell game, that was just pathetic. The band sounded really bad too, nobody was watching the drum major, well atleast the trumpets weren't. I can only imagine that in band on Friday Ert yelled at the trumpets, but since i didn't go to school on Friday I have NO clue!

Can't think of anything else that's even somewhat exciting to say... so my friends, till next Saturday!

9.15.2006

humanities

I've spent so many hours in the past week reading Sophie's World for Humanities. If anybody else has ever read it, does it ever get good? I guess we're only on like the 9th chapter, but I'm getting bored by it.

Other than Humanities, school has been fairly uneventful... I take that back, band has been slightly exciting. Tuesday night was our monthly Band Council Meeting (aka, me, Mr. Robertson, and about 10 parents). At it, the boosters announced that they're ordering BAND JACKETS! oh mylanta, I am SO excited!!!!!! We also decided to create a contest out of designing the pep band t-shirt. Whoever designs the winning shirt gets a giftcard to Red Robin. I'm so superly excited to see what people come up with.

I'm trying to think of other interesting things to blog about... Val has her adorable kids and pregnancy stories... I just go to school and work every day. I don't do a whole lot besides that, sorry for my disappointingly boring blog.

I think the one cool thing that happened during school this week was in Music History yesterday and today we did presentations. They were titled "My Favorite Song Presentation". We brought in a cd with one of our favorite songs, the class listened to it for 2 minutes, and then we briefly explained why it's our favorite. I chose a Waking Ashland song, since Megan and I listened to them the day before she left for the Y. It was really cool to learn what music everybody likes, we (Carly and I) were so wrong about what people listened to. We expected more rap, but so far only one student has brought in rap. We've had so much alternative music, I'm LOVING it! YAY for Music History!

Tonight I'm going to Steph's 18th bday party... only a month and a few more days til my 18th bday! HOORAY for BIRTHDAYS! HOORAY HOORAY! I'm so excited. We'll see how her party goes tonight, I'll blog about it tomorrow while I'm at work, since this is one of the few things I find entertaining while I'm at work.

I need suggestions for what to write my college application essay about, I'm struggling hardcore to come up with ideas. Oh I hate the thought of starting that bad boy, but it needs to get done so I can be all ready to apply when applications are available. ACK! I'm not really looking forward to applying to college, until the acceptance letter comes, those are always good!

Well... it's lasagna time, and then I'm off to the partay!

so i was wrong

I can see this as possibly the most addictive thing I've created. I'll have to limit myself to when I post, but I'll definitely update every Saturday while I'm at work. I'm still trying to figure the whole thing out, but I think I've got the basics down. I'll have to talk with Val to get the rest figured out!

School is a little more exciting than I admitted in that last post. My classes are crazy awesome except that I want to switch around Child Psych and Humanities. I want to be in child psych third period when the preschoolers have recess and snack time, thats the BEST part of the day! I don't have to deal with parents at all, no drop off or pick up like second and fourth have to deal with. My classes at school are ridiculously easy, except for humanities. This is my schedule:

1. Music History
2. Band
3. Humanities
4. Child Psych
5. Peer Coaching

second semester should be a little more difficult:
1. Pre-College Writing
2. Band
3. American Government
4. Aerobics
5. Peer Coaching
6. Creative Writing

We had advisory on Wednesday, I pretty much have chosen what I'm doing for my senior project (CP). I'm going to learn photography techniques and create a portfolio of my friends. I'll probably rope some of the fam into this project too, but since not very many live around, who knows how that will go.

Last night was the first home football game, against Bothell. 55 seconds into the game we KNEW we were going to lose. It ended up being 6-26, not so good for a first game. I showed up in my new spirit gear, lets just say VALUE VILLAGE is amazing! My bright yellow skirt (from Ann Taylor) and my lime green soccer jerzey (team name being Butterflies with Attitude) was pretty much amazing with my black leggings, green socks and yellow pumas. I can't forget my mardi gras beads, or my spirit scarf that I bought from the band boosters last year. And then of course, the amazingly ugly green purse! I have school spirit down to a t, I love showing off my green and gold! The pep band played really well, I was super proud of the sophomores. The amazing flute girl had a bunch of the songs memorized, but she always came to me to check to make sure she was playing well. I pretty much LOVE her!

Well... it's 2:30 now and work is over in an hour, maybe I'll start doing part of my closing routine. Yay for garage doors!

thought i'd start...

Janyse and I were talking on the phone today about how Val blogs and we love it, so we decided we'd get into the madness too. I'm sitting here at work, waiting for the phone to ring, and I'm talking with Katie about random stuff, like every Saturday. I love it here :D

Not a whole lot is going on, school started on Wednesday, I guess that's kinda cool.
