Hey again friends! Tonight was my LAST band concert ever... I'll admit, as I was getting dressed up in my spiffidelic uniform, there was a tear or two shed.
I was way stressed before the concert because I had to organize the Senior Gift to Mr. Robertson (a quilt was made by a mom that had 9 or 12 past pep band t-shirts on it... i needed 35 students to sign it without Ert seeing.)
At the concert, awards and scholarships are given, then I (as the band president) give the gift to Ert. I won one of the Redmond Mustang Band Booster Scholarships (add this to the Greater Seattle BYU Alumni one, and I've almost got one semester of tuition covered!!!!!!)! Tyler and I won "Students of the Year" which was awesome. Rather than talk about the girl, bring her up, and then talk about the guy and bring him up, Mr. Robertson talked about us as if we were one, then had us come up together to get our little plaques! Then, Mr. Robertson called each senior up one at a time, gave us a carnation and talked about us for like 15 seconds each. After this point, I gave him our gift. I first spoke about memories, lessons we learned, a lesson we didn't learn (DON'T TALK WHILE WE TUNE) and apologized for our behavior, and told him that as a thank you for putting up with us, we wanted to send him and a guest to Jazz Alley for dinner and a show. Because the certificate had not yet come, I told him we had something else... and had Tyler come hold the quilt up to show him. Ert was so excited! I mentioned the following: "To some, it's not over til the fat lady sings. For us, Band isn't over til the trumpets play pep band"
We then played our last song, WICKED! After that, we started playing a pep band song... he laughd, and part way through, from the audience, the sophomores and juniors joined it. We played Everybody's Everything, the song we played for marching band last year. It was amazing, I almost cried.
Dad took some pics of Tyler and me, and then Tyler, Ert, and me... It was fantastic! THEN... we followed the most important band tradition, we went to DAIRY QUEEN! Now I'm sitting here eating my blizzard blogging about my last band concert.
I'm sad... I don't want band to be over! Luckily we have our trip this weekend... YAY BAND!
That my friends, is why I am a HARDCORE BAND GEEK!

Joanne tagged me, and I give into peer pressure on my blog... so here ya go
I guess the title says it all! Joanne tagged me, which pretty much FORCED me to do this... I apologize for not having pictures to go along with my favorite things... I'm not on my computer, or at home on dad's computer, so I have no pictures
My 7 Favorite Things (not necessarily in order, and not necessarily my real 7 favorite things):
1. The Office
Yes, I know, Joanne put really cool things, like Hiking, and The Ocean, and Grapefruits... I start my list with a TV show. Now, I love this show, probably way more than I should. BUT, this past season was a fun time for me and a bunch of friends to bond over the show. At first, we would all watch it together at Bishop's house, but as time went on and we all had homework, we stopped meeting to watch it. We then would talk about it at school the next day. Thus, The Office is hilarious, and is a bonding tool.
2. Wicked
Now, I haven't actually seen the musical Wicked, but we're playing it in band. With Mr. Robertson, it feels like I've seen it, as his explanations on how to play the song better almost always comes with a "Well, in the play..." or "In this part of the play, this is happening". Needless to say, I love the music, especially the songs "Defying Gravity" and "Dancing Through Life". It makes me happy when we play this song in band, really happy.
3. Aerobics
Well, I often complain that I don't really like my aerobics teacher at school, but secretly I do. She has us work really hard (which is why I complain) but that is also why I like her! I've really liked working out everyday, and am sad to see my days in Aerobics go down. It will be a sad day when I don't get to work out in the Wrestling room anymore. Aerobics makes me feel way good, especially on the days when I walk out of there really sweaty. EWWW
4. Stanley
Now, you may be saying to yourself "Stanley is gone!" and that's true. Stanley was one of my favorite things, and not having Stanley makes me really sad. I feel like part of me died on February 28, 2007 when Stanley committed suicide. I feel bad borrowing moms car everyday, making her stay home, but I also feel really bad bumming rides off everyone, and would feel worse making mom or dad drive me to seminary. I miss Stanley and the opportunity he gave me to go run errands whenever, without having to worry about who needs the car next. Yes, this is why Stanley was one of my favorite things.
5. Tillamook Vanilla Bean Yogurt.
I love yogurt, but I'm really picky about it. Lots of people I know love yogurt, especially Vanilla yogurt. So, I felt pressured into trying it. Someone had a Yoplait vanilla one once, and I didn't particularly enjoy it... but then, one day, Tyler had a Tillamook Vanilla Bean one, and oh my goodness, it was heavenly. The bean part of it is what makes it taste so good, I think... Or maybe it's because it's Tillamook? Or because its container isn't so flimsy? Yeah, basically I don't know why, but because I (well, more like mom) bought two of them today they're on my mind right now. Yes, it's weird, but when have I been known to post something somewhat normal?
6. Flip Flops
I don't know when this all started, but I hardly ever wear shoes that are not flip flops. I own around 10 pairs of them, but I wear the same ones everyday. My "Locals" flip flops from Kona. They are my favorite shoes, and I wear them basically each day, including today. The exception is Sunday when I go to church, or random days that I wear skirts. I also don't wear flip flops on Saturday's at work, because i could drop a garage door part on my foot and it would hurt if my feet were not adequately covered. Yes, I love flip flops.
7. Graduation
You may be saying "Wow, Marce, you haven't even graduated yet" and to that I would respond, "I know!" but honestly... who doesn't love graduation? I have 10 days of school left, and they are just going so slowly. The thought of graduation is something I look forward to every freaking day. Especially when I remember that a few days after graduation MEGAN COMES HOME! And then I get to work full time at Napa, and I'm really excited about that. And what else happens, oh! It means I'll be a lot closer to being at BYU which makes me really happy, then I get to meet my roommate Cortney, who seems way cool. Yeah, I love graduation!
Alright, there you have it. 7 of my favorite things, not particularly in order, and not necessarily my favorite things. Bascially, that was just a post of 7 random things that I happen to love and have been thinking about recently.
Just be thankful that I didn't do what my original idea was... sing "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music, and write aout how I like blue satin sashes, raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens, brown paper packages tied up with string, etc... It would've been great.
Joanne tagged everyone that I would've tagged, she kind of tagged everybody that has a link from my blog, so if I don't have a link to your blog on here, I guess I TAG YOU! Tell us your 7 favorite things. Or, be different, don't give in to peer pressure, and blog about something else!

Prom explained, and other news
Mom informed me that I did not say what we did for Prom, and that I had other exciting news that I needed to announce to the general public via my blog.... so for the other exciting news:
I got a $1000 scholarship from the Greater Seattle BYU Alumni somethingerother... I'm way excited! The email was signed from Marcia Bean (I'm pretty sure you guys know her). I'm way stoked about this.
But anywho, the main point of this post was to say what we did for Prom. So here ya go:
In the afternoon we drove into Seattle to try out the Ride the Ducks attraction (www.ridetheducksofseattle.com). Our captain was Captain Stu Pendous. We enjoyed our loverly ride all over Seattle, the amazingly random information he shared with us, as well as the tunes that he played.
After the ducks, they had to take me back to Bellevue to get moms car, which I had left at work. They (the guys) decided we were going to go to Taco Bell for lunch, because, well... everybody loves Taco Bell, and they were hungry! So we had a fiesta at Taco Bell, and then went home to get ready. I went to Jenna's house because she did my hair... and because of our unplanned trip to Taco Bell, and newfound knowledge that their was a Mariners game, we had less time than we thought to get ready. It was stressful to say the least. I got back to our house with only my hair done at the time that everybody was supposed to be there to take pictures. Luckily, everybody was running a little late, so I had time to change, put on some mascara, brush my teeth, and have Jeanne help me shape my nails.
After what seemed like forever, all four of us were there and ready to go. We hopped into Tyler's car and boogied on down to Geneva (www.genevarestaurant.com) for dinner. You really should go to that link and look at the picture of the restaurant, it's really pretty! I had a Filet Mignon (sp?) and it was AMAZING!
Then we went to Union Station (yes, the train station) where Prom was. We got there just in time to vote for Prom King... (Our choices were 5 way cool guys, including Tyler.) Tyler won, regardless of the fact that I voted for Zawadi, possibly the funniest person I have ever met in my entire life. We also voted for Queen, but you wouldn't know any of the 6 options, so I left that part out... the winner was a way cute girl named Kiriana, she's in 3 of my classes at school. We had our pictures taken (they still haven't been delivered though... one can only hope that Tuesday will be the day) and then we talked to a bunch of people. We did dance some, but not as much as most people... school dances just aren't like stake dances :D
Around 11:30 we left the dance, rocked out to the soundtrack of Wicked, and went to Tyler's house. Tammy had made us some glorious cheesecake, so we ate it and drank some Martinellis. Tyler was convinced all along that we HAD to have sparkling cider as part of prom, hence the martinellis with our cheesecake. When we were done, we all went home, I talked with mom and dad, and then I went to sleep.
In a nutshell, that was Prom! It was AMAZING! I loved it, and we had a way good time!

Paint...
Recently, dad got the sudden urge to paint my bathroom. I didn't really know about this urge until I came home from school today. I ran in before going to work because I needed to grab something for work, and to go to the bathroom. Now, I don't know about all of you, but I have a favorite bathroom to use... SO... I ran up the stairs to find my bathroom open, with the windows open and fans blowing. I was slightly confused, until I comprehended that the nasty smell that my nose smelled was PAINT. It's like 50000 degrees outside and it smells like paint upstairs. I feel sick, so I grabbed my computer and came downstairs where I will probably stay all night just because of the nasty smell of paint that is coming from upstairs.
I just wanted to share this lovely experience with you all. I also felt bad because I don't have any more pics from Prom yet, I'm working on that :D

Prom... take 1
Here are pics that mom took at Prom... I'll add more once I get dad's pictures, our official pics, and the picture that Hailey took. We'll get some pics from our afternoon Ride the Ducks, Dinner, and Dessert at the Livelys....

Housing... the second time
So... today I was going to 4th period when a friend told me that my cell phone was lighting up. I checked it, sure enough. I had 3 missed calls from home, along with 3 voicemails. Dad had called to say that BYU housing had called and that I needed to come home at lunch.
So, I went home at lunch. I logged into my BYU Housing, and clicked a button that brought up a screen that basically said "The BYU Accomidations Office has reserved a room for you in Heritage Hall. Would you like to: Accept or Decline."
I hit accept, and I will now be living in E. Richards Hall! So now my kitchen supplies that I started getting for Christmas will not have to sit in a box! My roommate is from Florida and seems pretty sweet! Also in our "apartment" are 2 girls from Arizona, a girl from Texas, and a girl from American Fork. I'm so excited! I've only emailed Cortney (my room roommate), I suppose that closer to the actual date I'll email the rest.
I'm WAY Excited.
ALSO
Yesterday were CP Presentations. I PASSED! Now that's done! YAY Graduation is just around the corner, and I am getting WAY excited!

HOUSING
Alright... so I was planning on living in Heritage, and wanting to request a room in Horne Hall... unfortunately, when I got to request my room this morning, Heritage was full.
SO, I'll be living in Helaman, in Chipman Hall. My roommate is from Portland and from what I know so far, she seems great! We're right across from the bathroom (a total perk) that we'll share with a bazillion other girls. This morning I was really ticked off about this... but as time has gone on, I've gotten over the fact that I'm in Helaman. I'm mostly bummed about the lack of a kitchen. I was way excited to be able to cook. It looks like the awesome mixing bowl, measuring bowls and rolling pin that I got for Christmas will stay in a box at mom and dad's house for an extra year. OR maybe I'll keep them in a box at the Springgay house in Provo in case I ever have a need for them.
On a happier note, my Prom dress is pretty much done. Mom has to finish hemming it, which she'll do after dinner tonight. When it's done, I'll get a picture of it and post it here so you don't have to wait an entire week fr the real Prom pictures to be available to you lovely folk!

Spiderman 3
SO... Spiderman came out on Friday. It being Wednesday, I finally went and saw it. Now, I'd been counting down the days til May 4th since I first found out when Spiderman3 was coming out. I am in LOVE with Spiderman. I love Spiderman and Spiderman 2. I have a Spiderman shirt that I wear all the time, I recently ordered a Spiderman Bowl from the cereal box. I also have a Spiderman folder that I use at school. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of Spiderman 3. I thought this movie was going to be AMAZING. But I was so disappointed. As I walked out of the theatre with Jessica, we were so sad and wanted our $8.50 back.
Did anybody else have similar feelings?
Don't get me wrong. I still love Spiderman. Not all parts of number 3 were HORRIBLE, but I was not overly impressed at the end.
End of my thoughts on the matter, how does everybody else feel?
ALSO... cool little fact: this is the first post I've done on my new laptop! Dad got the wireless set up yesterday, so now my computer is pretty much functional. We haven't moved my iTunes over yet, and that's kinda bugging me, but I should be able to get that done soon.

Work....
Good story...
So I'm at work today, since it's Saturday. I go to take my lunch break. I went and picked up McDonalds, because I REALLY wanted chicken nuggets. So I'm driving back to work, sippin my sprite. I pull into our parking lot, grab my sprite and walk in. With only my Sprite. I clock in, go back to whatever I was doing before, and discussing this customer with my co-worker. Suddenly, about 10 minutes have gone by and I realize I'm hungry. I grab my keys, run to the parking lot, and grab my food. Meanwhile, my co-worker is laughing at me because I left my lunch in the car.
And that my friends... is why I am the best!

Happy Half Birthday
Today is my Half Birthday! It has been the best day I've had in a LONG time! Here is why today is amazing:
1. Spiderman 3 came out today. I haven't seen it yet, but the important thing is that it is out and I will be seeing it soon. I love Spiderman!
2. This morning I had an interview with the Rotary Club because I had been nominated for Student of the Month. Three of us were interviewed, one will get it.
3. At the end of school today I got a pass to go down to the main office. I met up with all the kids who had been nominated. I got it! I'm the Rotary Student of the Month! Next Thursday I get to attend the Rotary Luncheon with mom, dad, and Ms. Badger (the teacher who nominated me)! I am so excited for this one!
4. My laptop came in the mail today. Yep! Last weekend I sat down and actually ordered my laptop! It wasn't supposed to even be shipped until today, but it shipped wednesday and arrived today. It's still in its box waiting for Office to be installed so I have word, excel and those other amazing programs. Tomorrow dad is going to help me transfer my music, pictures and documents from the desktop to the laptop! i'm stoked!
5. In band we played through our entire arrangement of Wicked! If you haven't seen the musical (which I haven't) or heard the music, you really should. The first time we played it, I hated it. So did everybody in my band. BUT now that we've been working on it for a few weeks, I am in love! I went out and bought the soundtrack the other day and have been happily listening to it in moms car ever since! I LOVE playing Wicked! AHHHH! So excited!
6. Yesterday I finished the BYU Alumni Scholarship, so now I don't have to think about it anymore. Now I just wait...
basically... all these things added up to what is now one of my favorite days ever!
Happy Half Birthday to ME!
