The Curse is Broken.

We (my freshman roommates, 215, whatever you want to refer to us as) have at times questioned ourselves for various reasons. We knew we were a little weird, I mean, hello... do you see that picture of us trying to make a pyramid? That picture is about the 17th picture we took that day... Jenny just couldn't handle it.

We watched as someone from pretty much every apartment in our building got engaged, then married, and then some of them are even pregnant (or maybe it's still just that one girl who got married right after freshman year and has a kid now). All the while, none of us were really even dating anyone. I was pretty much convinced that we were cursed. I had no problem with that though, because that meant we could all be old maids together.

Well my friends, that curse is officially broken because SARAH IS ENGAGED! The news came as a bit of a shock to me this week when she called to break the news. Not that I was shocked that she and Adam are getting married, but shocked because they're getting married in just two months! I was anticipating an August wedding, but May 13th is the official day.

When I went to sleep Tuesday night after finding out, I had a dream. If you aren't familiar with the movie 27 Dresses, let me tell you a little about it so the dream makes sense. We've got Jane, the main character, who is always always always a bridesmaid. She loves weddings; planning them, being at them, everything about weddings. Then two of her friends choose to get married on the same day, slightly complicating her life. She takes a taxi back and forth between the two weddings and receptions, amazingly being at all the important things at each wedding. This is where my dream comes in. That night in my dream someone else was getting married the same day as Sarah and I was driving back and forth between the receptions trying so hard for nobody to notice that I was gone. And man, let me tell you... trying to get away without everyone else from 215 figuring it out was difficult. It was especially difficult for me to get away without Christie knowing, since I took her car every time I left. When I woke up in the morning I was freaking out, was someone else getting married that day? I had about 5 friends get engaged the same weekend that Sarah did so I was afraid that my dream was going to be a reality. I went through all of my facebook friends and made a list of everyone that was engaged, then quickly tried to figure out when everyone was getting married. I couldn't find anyone else getting married May 13th, and then I just decided that even if anyone else was getting married that day, I would be with my 215 girls celebrating Sarah and Adam, rather than driving back and forth, going crazy.

Words just can't even describe how excited I am for Sarah and Adam. When I found out I was just so happy! It was so obvious, even over the phone, that Sarah is totally in love with this man who is totally perfect for her. When I saw them a few weeks ago, they were both just so happy that it made me happy. Even though it's been like 2 days now I still am just as excited as I was those first split seconds, if not more excited.

Sarah my love, I'm so excited and can't wait to see you on May 13th when I know you will just be glowing. You're going to be one gorgeous bride, and I can't wait!

Now for the rest of 215, if you still want to be old maids together, I'm all over that... but lets give it a few more years before we decide anything for sure, k?

Oh Marci, you are so great! Thanks for this sweet post. I am so so excited, and you're right, I am totally in love with Adam, and he IS totally perfect for me! It is a miracle, to say the least! :)

As much as you want to be an old maid, your chances are pretty low. Good luck with that. ;) I love you!

You'd better not leave your keys with me during the reception... I can't make any promises, Christie :)
