I just got home from an appt with my OB. They scheduled the rest of my appointments for my pregnancy, and when we got to my 40 week appt the lady mentioned that "oh, that's the week that Dr S is going to be out of town".
The look of sadness on my face must've been pretty crazy, because the lady felt really bad and apologized to me that my doctor won't be in town the week I'm due. Let's hope this little girl comes a teeny bit early, or a few days late so that I can have Dr. S be there... although I know the other doctors at her practice are good docs too, I wanted Dr. S to be the one!

K, we're gonna have to go for walks at the mall and drive you on some bumpy roads to try to induce your labor early!!
It will be OK. Your sweet little one is the most important part and she will be the same either way.

Ugh. I know that feeling. I got to have my doctor with Eric and Andrew and things still worked out fine with Carmen. Actually, it was my nurse I disliked the most with her.

I agree with Vanessa, since it is ROTTEN to be late (as YOU taught me!) Vanessa can take you for a walk and then I will fly down to visit you!!!
That happened to me with my first. I had an on call dr deliver mine and I was disappointed but being in that much pain I didn't care much who was delivering as long as he got that baby out of me. I hope Dr Heck is on call if you deliver while Dr Satterfield is out. She did Owen's circumcision and I was impressed with her the couple of times we interacted. Good luck!

What a bummer Marci! So sorry to read about that! After seeing a certain Dr. throughout your pregnancy I can imagine the thought of someone else doing the delivery as the worst of news. I've heard Caster Oil helps induce labor ;) (old wives tale I'm sure, but maybe worth a go?)
