End of December

December was a real doozy. Since Emma took a while to get over her ear infection we didn't get a whole lot of sleep.

December 19th we woke up to see a tiny little tooth poking through her gums! Perfect timing, as later that afternoon we hopped on an airplane to go see my parents for Christmas!

Long story short, Emma LOVED spending time with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Brad. Brad taught her that the instant she dropped anything he would pick it up and give it back to her, which was pretty funny to watch. When she was in her high chair he would hand her the cup/spoon/toy/whatever and then she would immediately look over the edge at the ground and drop it again. That Uncle Brad knows how to have a good time :)

Since we had opened most of our gifts before going out of town, Christmas day was pretty relaxing. Emma got to play with the wrapping paper after people opened their gifts and she loved it. She also enjoyed trying the snacks that Santa brought her.

We had a great time in Nauvoo--playing lots of games, watching some movies, and playing more games. Chris helped mom and dad and some of the neighbors fix problems with their internet, and now FaceTime is a lot smoother with them! After being there a couple of days Emma cut her second tooth. We had many nearly sleepless nights--some nights I was up with her 6 times. It was nice to have extra people who were willing to play with her after she woke up so that I could finally get a few hours of sleep.

We got home a few days ago, and tried getting back into the swing of things. We had lots of cleaning, shopping, and returns that we needed to do.

We spent New Years Eve with some friends who are getting ready to move up to Utah. We are going to miss them a lot! I met them at some dinner at BYU the day after Chris and I got engaged and learned that we would all be in the same ward down in Texas, it was nice to at least kind of know somebody when we got down here. Jessica and I were the ones without kids for a while down here and used to get together to watch movies/shows or do crafts, or just go run errands together often. Brad was our home teacher for a while in our last ward, and we'd get together for game or movie nights with them. We enjoyed playing games, eating snacks, and watching the fireworks that their neighbors did!

And now it's January! Chris went back to work today, after 2 weeks off. I'm pretty sure he slept through his alarm today, but he still left at a mostly decent time.

And if you read that you get some pictures. Although I don't have anything from December on my computer yet... I'll need to get the cable from Chris so I can upload those images.

Emma loves her new little hoodie. Also, this princess quilt from Grandma Cindy (don't know if you still check my blog Cindy, but she looooves it!)

Well my goodness - teeth! Sorry it's been a rough month for you. It sounds like Christmas and New Years were still good despite the little sleep! And congrats on your new year's resolutions from last year - I still have to sit down and examine mine and create new ones. Probably won't happen until spring. ;)

We are missing the chaos that Emma created for us. But getting the decorations put away, the sheets and towels back in clean condition, etc. has kept us busy. Can't wait for more pictures. So enjoyed all the games and time together. Mostly, we loved having you here!
