Recently I've been writing some poems. Well, I guess I wrote one poem, thought it was pretty good, and decided to leave it at that.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
On May 16th
Our baby is due!
I think it's a pretty sweet poem, although I do have to admit that I didn't write it... I found it on some baby website and filled in the blank with my due date.
This is the true reason why I haven't blogged a whole lot in the past 3 months. I've spent more time than I would like to admit with my head in the toilet, and that just doesn't leave much time/energy or good stories for the blog! I will admit that I've watched the first 4 seasons of Boy Meets World, watched a marathon of Storage Wars, and a few episodes of A Baby Story (before I realized I definitely could not watch many more of those).
I haven't made any recipes that were particularly notable, so I haven't shared those. In fact, I haven't made a whole lot of anything. We've been eating tacos once a week, and I learned that I prefer ground beef tacos rather than chicken tacos. Yuck. I also fell in love with Burger King burgers all over again. And I've been dying to get some Chinese food lately, but that hasn't happened yet. Going to Red Robin for my birthday last week was the best food decision I've made lately.
Anyway, back to the fun stuff! We found out on September 10th, and have been so dang excited ever since! It's been hard to keep it quiet, so after my second appointment yesterday when we got to hear the heartbeat and everything sounded/looked good we decided it was time to make the big announcement! At the end of my appointment I went to schedule my next appointment, and the lady also went ahead and scheduled the appointment after that, which will be the BIG ultrasound! We find out the gender on New Year's Eve, so we'll probably end up throwing a nice little shindig that evening (if any of our friends are in town) or on New Year's Day to reveal the gender and to celebrate the new year!
I shared the news on Facebook last night by saying "Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a great day! The best part was hearing our babies heartbeat for the first time today! We're excited to welcome "Baby (insert my last name here)" around May 16th!" but then I realized that I don't know that everyone that follows my blog is on FB, or that we're friends... so this post is for you (and also because I've been dying to post about it on here). I may go ahead and write a few other posts to describe the last few months better, so that I remember what it's been like!

Congrats! The first baby is so fun because everything is new. I hope you're feeling better now. You're going to be a great mom. I'm so excited for you! :)
This just makes me smile. :) I am glad that the baby is healthy and everything. I held off telling everyone until the first trimester was over as well. Man, you're gonna be such a cool mom. :)
This is so flipping exciting! Congratulations! :-D
Whoa - that's AWESOME Marci! Congratulations! Well now that's just about the best news I've heard all month! Sorry about the morning sickness though; I've heard it goes away after first-trimester -- I hope that's the case for you! My eyes will be plastered to your blog for all news ('baby' or otherwise). ;)
Oh Marci, I'm so excited for you! Babies are just so fun. Keep us posted about everything. So glad you are feeling better, you hid it well.
