After an AMAZING first game and rough night... rounds 2 and 3 of state continued.
GAME TWO:
Redmond v. Ferris
Ferris was undefeated going into the game, so we weren't too sure how it would turn out.
We were ahead the entire game until the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. They came back to win, it was rough, but we played really well.
GAME THREE:
Redmond v. Eisenhower
This game was so close the entire time. Never more than a few points separated us from EHS.
In the last 2 minutes it was tied. They got possession of the ball, and held it/passed it around to eachother until 5 seconds were left. They shot, won... we were pissed (as the band) and then we rode the bus home. It was almost silent the entire way, until someone got the brilliant idea that we should sing through our flip folders. So... with the cheer leaders wanting to sleep and the band not enjoying the silence, we sang our way through Eye of the Tiger, You Can Call Me Al, The Impression that I Get, Louie Louie, Tear the Roof off the Sucker, You Dropped a Bomb on Me, Tequila, and The Fight Song. It was amazing to hear us all sing our parts, almost better than we play them. It was crazy awesome, I won't lie.
Now though... Pep Band really is over, unless we play in an assembly sometime later this year. I can put away my flute forever, never have to worry about the flute soli in You Can Call Me Al, or being bored to death in half of our other songs. My spirit fingers will go into hiding until I get to BYU, and my green and gold can almost retire. No more green facepaint, or hair spray. No more need for green shorts, pep band t-shirts, or my yellow pumas. Pep Band is DONE.
On a completely different note... it's Saturday and I'm sitting at work. Hoping the phone won't ring too much since my voice sounds like crap. Thats what happens when you go to the Tacoma Dome 3 days in a row for basketball, and went to 2 games last weekend as well. 5 basketball games in 1 week is not so good for your voice, dang it!
