Why technology is dumb

My printer doesn't work right now. Not only is it out of black ink (easy enough to fix) but it won't scan. I'm kind of angry about that.

Today I turned my computer on and it told me that my battery was dying and that I need to buy a replacement battery or leave it plugged in forever. I've had this computer for almost exactly 18 months and now it's crapping out on me. Replacement batteries aren't cheap, and apparently they don't work so well either, atleast according to every review I found at dell.com. Dad, if you are reading this I want to talk to you about it. Or Mom, if you are reading this, tell Dad that I need to talk to him about this. I want to talk things through with him first and make sure I get the right replacement, because that would make me more mad if I bought the wrong replacement. Dell's customer support wasn't working either so I couldn't talk to someone on there and tell them all the woes of my life.

Someone dropped my cell phone when they were trying to help me carry a bunch of things in from a hall activity so now it has a scratch on it which makes me really sad, this phone was looking really good still.

My iPod doesn't hold its charge for long, so I pretty much don't use it anymore unless it is in its docking station. I should give it some credit though, I got it in 10th grade, so it's been through a lot.

Wow. I love technology. Thank you world for fabulous creations that don't work long.

Maybe you'll get a happier post from me soon.

Oh. I got a haircut. And I love it. Pictures to come (once I have money on my meal plan again and can buy batteries so I can put batteries back in my camera and take pictures)

Ugh. I'm with you on that technology stuff. No fun. But it's one of those "you can't live with it, but you can't live without it" things.
Sorry to tell you this, but these problems are going to follow you around for the rest of your life:

Although...I think my problems are more that I don't know how to use most of the features on these things, rather than them breaking down.

Can't wait to see your new do!

Our printers are having issues too, just in time to need them for Teagan's Court of Honor this weekend! They (an inkjet and an old laser) both have new ink/toner in them, but the laser won't print anything BLACK, just shades of gray that get lighter and lighter. Needs a new drum. Don't know why the inkjet has it's problems (yellow lines with a new color cartridge and cut off lines in black).

Time for a new printer!!!! Also having issues with computer, ipod, DS, car stereo, and no remote for the TV.

Sorry to rant. I'm just singing your song over here! Love you Marci!

Well, we have had horrible problems with our computers--but Dad wiped the hard drive clean and re-installed everything so that mine is now working hunky dorrey! He bought himself a new laptop (though it took him a LONGGGGGGG time to decide to make that plunge. Great birthday timing on the failures of all your electronics! Hope Dad's advice pays off quickly--and that you can use your computer on its battery. Much love, Mom

Hey Marci, sorry to hear about your stupid technology gizzmos. But you know, you have more gadgets than I do and I invent technologies! I think that our lives would be lot simpler without some of this stuff where we seem to spend more hours trying to fix, repair or understand why it is breaking then using it. Another words, (they didn't teach this in physics) there are three states of matter. Being repaired, broken and being broken. -- your "other" Dad.
Steph says her battery seems to have issues (being broken of course).
