Today was the opening ceremony of my birthday festivities. Yes, I am now a big deal... just like the olympics. just kidding. My birthday festivities began when the mailman knocked, rang the door bell, then knocked again so that I would know that my birthday package from mom was sitting in front of our door. I was excited!
Then I headed over to The Elms where 4 of my freshman roommates live. We went and picked Christie up and headed up to Pleasant Grove (PG) for a hike. We hiked, taking lots of pictures along the way. Cute pictures, kind of like the one of the 6 of us on a bridge from our freshman year. But this time we did it with a self timer because nobody was around to take our pictures for us. After our hike we went to Walmart because we needed to buy ice cream and cookie dough so we could make pazookies. I also needed laundry detergent, so I bought that. While Allison, Jenny and I were getting those three things, Christie, Kelli and Sarah were running around Walmart being crazy. Then we all checked out, and headed back to The Elms. Jenny went visiting teaching and the other 5 of us headed over to Costa Vida to get some pork burritos (and a pork salad) for dinner. We then went back to The Elms where we chilled and ate our food while we waited for Jenny to get back from Visiting Teaching. Then she made the pazookies (which apparently none of us knew how to make but Jenny) and then we ate them. The signed and sang Happy Birthday to me, it was EXCELLENT! I opened my birthday present (which was what Kelli, Christie and Sarah were running around being crazy for at Walmart) of V8 Splash and the movie August Rush. I am still so excited about them both! Then we all had to go...
It was a lovely beginning to my birthday which really isn't until Wednesday but which I plan celebrating all week long!
Now tonight... I think I'm going to read for fun, maybe watch a movie, but mostly just chillax while I enjoy a few hours of being home alone! I'll probably paint my toenails and make my finger nails all shiny. Oh, and I'll do my laundry now that I have laundry detergent.

That sounds absolutely fabulous. I hope the birthweek festivities continue to be awesome. :) And what in the world is a pazookie?
A pazookie... we baked cookies, but you only bake them about half way, maybe 3/4 of the way. then you put ice cream on top. i've also done it with brownies. sometimes we've made them in muffin tins. they are basically AMAZING!
You failed to mention a total SUGAR HIGH, so you must not have opened the package from Mom, since it undoubtedly would have been shared in part with the frosh roomies. Continue to celebrate in style!
Happy (early) Birthday Marci! Sounds like you're filling your celebration with lots of fun! August Rush was a cute movie -- good choice!
