Hooray!

I woke up this morning, well almost afternoon, to find that roommate 3 had put our chore chart back up, with a note on the hallway mirror reminding us to do our chores. Roommate 1, who regularly refused to do her chores before, did hers already.

Yesterday Roommate 3 and I were in the kitchen and she made a comment about how everybody was cleaning up after themselves and I just laughed. I told her that I come in the kitchen every night and clean it a ton and that from there it's pretty easy to make it stay clean... nobody wants to be the one to put a bowl in the sink if nothing else is sitting in there. She didn't believe me, but then Roommate 1 came in and said it was true. I love that my roommates don't believe that I clean our apartment, since I was the one that asked for us to have a chore chart, with the excuse that I didn't want to be the only one cleaning our apartment.

Ah, the beauties of dorm life. I recall the very same types of struggles 40 years ago in Greaves Hall in Logan. Except that we cooked for a week, did dishes for a week, and cleaned bathrooms for a week--meaning we did dishes for a meal someone else cooked ALL THE TIME. It somehow worked out, though. Time will pass and this will change.
