There. is. a. mouse. in. my. apartment.

We chased it out of bedroom 2. Thought we had it trapped in bedroom 3. And then we lost it. We poked it out of Kiley's cloest (she wasn't home yet, and she locked her closet). We don't know where it went. But we're freaking out.

There. is. a. mouse. in. my. apartment. EWWW!

Call Maintenance! Buy a mouse trap. But be prepared--if you catch it, someone has to throw away the trap. I. Am. Sorry! That stinks.

I submitted a work order before I wrote this post. Then... after chasing the mouse for an 1 or so, we went to walmart, set 8 traps, and went to sleep off campus. This morning when maintenance opened I called and asked what else could be done. There are different traps set in our apartment now and he moved some of our old traps... it's quite interesting.

That's truly unfortunate. We were innundated with mice at my first house here in Boston. They would get into our food pantry and eat all our uncovered food. We finally had to make rules around where we could bring food in our house, and cover everything in thick plastic or tin cans.

What worked for us was this stuff called "DeCon" (I might be spelling it wrong, I haven't had to use it for over a year now). It's a poison you leave in a tray, which they eat it but it doesn't immediately kill them. What it does is make them thirsty so they go outside to get some water in a local puddle or stream and once the water hits the decon in their stomach the poison is activated and they die outside. No trap mess. No clean-up. Much cleaner/safer way of killing mice than using a trap.
If you can't find the DeCon, then my next suggestion is to get "sticky traps" instead of "snap traps" - no blood involved in sticky traps, however - you have to be prepared to pick the trap up with a struggling live mouse if you get to it before the thing has died. But again - preferred over the snap-traps.

Good luck!!!
