SNAPE is a very bad man

I preordered my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yesterday at Borders. I got a sticker for preordering... it says "SNAPE is a very bad man". I got to choose between that and one that said he was a friend.

I think Snape is a very bad man... I can't get over the feelings I've held against him since Harry first attended Hogwarts. Is this something I need to repent of? I know you're not supposed to have bad feelings about people, but he's just a character in abook, so I figure it doesn't count towards my eternal progression... What are your takes on Snape? Harry Potter in general? Who's excited for it to come out? July 21st is just around the corner!

No way, J.K. is all about redemption, so he might be kinda bad, but defintely not all bad. Somehow, Harry with his innate gift to love (Voldemort can't even begin to understand that) will help Snape.
And I think Dumbledore asked Snape/told him to kill him.
Just my take.
And hello--d'ye think we might be excited at our house?
btw-you aren't a loser, even if you can't launch a rocket.

I'm a rebel and have not read the Harry Potter books. At this point I feel like I've missed the boat. I'm several thousand pages behind, I'm sure. Hopefully one of our kids will be into them someday so I'll read with them. Maybe Seth would like them?? Tried to get Eliza into those, with no luck. Hmmm...

Those and The Work and The Glory. Just can't get myself to read them...

Oh, this is exciting. I love Harry Potter! I am not sure what to think of Snape. I have always felt like he is bad, but could Harry's intution be better than Dumbledore's?--it just doesn't seem likely.

I am torn about being excited for the last book. I want to read it and find out everything, but I will be so sad when it is all over...sigh.

Snape: Bad. But I have to believe there will be a positive outcome, because I just can't stand the thought of one of my favorite actors (Alan Rickman) getting a bad reputation because of this book! ;)

I'm with you, Sista! Though I fully expect it to turn out that he's not all bad and I think Jeanne's got the right idea, I can't help but hating him!! From the very beginning he has just made my blood boil!! I'd love to have his soul sucked away, but that seems almost too easy. (Maybe we should see the Bishop together.)

Jeanne, Nettie, and Janyse are right -- somehow there is good in Snape. The movie and book release dates for July have been on my calendar for a month, at least!

How do we get Valerie to read these books? Taggart read the first one over spring break and said, "Mom, the movie was wrong a few times!!" "That's why reading the books are better," I pointed out! Val, you're missing out! You can read them even if your kids don't!
