Bah!

For our RA final we are working in our teams to create some sort of presentation of things we want to tell the incoming batch of RAs. Some times people make movies, sometimes picture books... we were at one point thinking of learning the dance to We're All In This Together (from High School Musical) and changing the words to be RA related. Then, we (and by we I mean Braden) had a genius idea. Mormonads. But RAds is what we called them. Everyone is making two RAds with things that they've learned... for example: Braden learned that if there's food, people come to anything. So his says "Food: If you bring it, they will come" and it has a picture of a pizza. At the bottom instead of a scripture we put quotes from the RA manual. It has been a really fun project (which is funny, we only decided on it last night).

Mine are "Need a Friend? Call Your Hall Advisor" and then in the presentation I'll talk about how Megan has been my bff this year. My other one is about Facebook. It's going to have a few meanings, although only one will be conveyed in the ad. My catchphrase isn't good yet, but the main idea is... don't know what to talk to your residents about? (insert a picture of my info page from Facebook) "with some help from facebook, you now know what they're interested in." and then a quote from the manual about how you have to talk interact with each apartment each week. I also thought of doing something like "Facebook: A Legit Way to Advertise" with a picture of an event invitation. I haven't decided yet.

The reason I titled this post "Bah!" is this: tonight I was on duty, so between roves I did a few reports for my HA, and then I decided to work on my RA final. I made two whole RAds, finished with every detail. I hit save, x'd out of the program, and went to my email to send them to Braden so he could see them and tell me what he thought. Then... I couldn't find the file. Anywhere. Apparently I didn't hit save, or if I did, my computer can't find the file anywhere. So I get to make my RAds all over again. At least now I've figured out the best way to format them, and relearned how to use powerpoint and make the backgrounds cool and such. This will be my project after I finish my Stats test this week.

Also after I take my stats test... I get to go buy new jeans. My tax return finally came, so I can finally buy jeans to replace my favorite pair that tragically died a few weeks ago. Owning only 2 pairs of jeans was a bad idea... but not entirely my fault. Stupid "freshman 15" last year. Actually, more of it came from last semester... dang meal plan. Maybe the moral of this story is to take an exercise class, or at least exercise, or something.

PS. Braden is the RA that took over Kimball (the one guys hall in our group of halls) when Mike left between semesters to go on his mission. I don't think I've ever written about Braden before, but he's a freaking genius. Sometimes I wonder how his brain works. He's going to be very rich someday, because he is just that amazing. Also, he's going on his mission to Russia this summer. When he opened his call I thought of Jeanne!

Also. Completely random, my FHE brother Callin (the blond, for anyone who has seen pictures) got his mission call today. Czech Prague mission. He is so excited, and so are we! Congrats, Callin!

I'm so sorry you lost your first RAds! That stinks! I would love to see them when you're finished with this Finals Assignments. When you get here would be acceptable, though! I'm counting the days!
