It's been brought to my attention by a few concerned family members that I haven't blogged in a while. My bad. Even when I commit myself to blog at least 3 times a week I can't always find the time to get it in. So I'll blog about what's on my mind right now, and I won't try to connect all of the dots... because it may be really hard for some of the dots to be connected.
1. I believe I am allergic to Utah. Perhaps just Provo, or maybe even as specific as the dorms. I cannot stop sneezing, and it's kind of ridculous. I barely made it through church today.
2. In 48 days I am moving out of the dorms. Forever. I own a lot of things and am dreading packing everything up in the next 7 weeks. So mom... if a package comes home addressed to me, from me, could you just throw it on my bed or in my closet or something? I'm going to try to find a bunch of things that I don't really use and send them off to you so I can reduce the amount of stuff to pack later.
3. I am still without a place to live next year, although I know where I want to live. My tax return is now supposed to be here by the 24th, although last week the date was the 17th. My hope is that it comes much sooner so I can finalize everything. Tomorrow I"m calling the manager at the complex I want to live at to see if we can make some sort of agreement and have me pay a deposit now and wait til my check comes to pay the first and last months rent. Yay housing. Perhaps I'll just buy a tent and live somewhere close to campus.
4. In the next 49 days I have:
-3 quizzes
-3 exams
-2 papers due
-10 deep cleaning checks, although the HA will help with them
-at least 7 firesides to go to (4 of them between now and next Sunday)
-General Conference
-6 finals
-check outs
-packing
-cleaning
-to move out and spend the night somewhere else before I fly away
5. Of those... 1 quiz must be taken tomorrow, one of the exams is this week, and one of the papers is due on Thursday. I don't know the topic of the paper, but I'm sure it is something related to marriage and family, as every paper I ever write anymore seems to be on that. I have firesides on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday. It will be an interesting week. Oh. And devotional on Tuesday as well. Make that 5 firesides.
6. I have three church activities still this month and two Heritage activities... my hall activity (which still needs to be planned) and an activity that our associate group is planning (which I'm not sure what needs to be done still, but I'm sure we'll talk about it again soon?) I think I'll skip the stake activity (a St. Patricks Day dance that will have "other activities" as well... or so it's been advertized. They're having a raffel. I'm not sure what a raffel is, but I'm guessing it might be like a raffle, only different) and possibly the first ward activity. The second ward activity of the month will definitely be one to hit up, it's a break the fast dinner. The first and last one our ward will ever have. And it's free food. One less meal to cook.
7. I'm trying to plan a really cool Hall Meeting for our last hall meeting, which I realized is going to be very soon. It's not going to be stressful, it will just be kind of emotional and I don't want to really think about it yet, but I should.
8. This weekend I went out to dinner with my old apartment. I realized how much I miss them. Because we all realized that we decided to plan another chance for us to get together. I'm not sure they realize we only have 49 days. And I'm hoping they don't try to pull something together in the last days possible... they'll be busy.
9. Daylight Savings makes me not very happy. Losing that hour of sleep last night wasn't very fun. Atleast I got to sleep a little after church which was nice.
10. The mailman has started delivering mail to me again, which is very exciting. This week I got a letter from Florida and Ecuador.
11. I found out that HARRY POTTER lives in my building. He got a free sample from Walmart in the mail yesterday and it didn't fit in the mailbox, so the mailman left it with the packages. I saw it, and I'm really excited.
12. I did almost all of my laundry the other day. It was 4 batches. Lights, Darks, and then two batches of sweatshirts & towels. It took a long time. I look forward to the day that I have my own washer and dryer. One that doesn't require quarters. Doing my laundry required a trip to the bank to get quarters. I also realized that I bought laundry detergent that I don't like. Luckily, like 5 people left their laundry detergent out... so I used different laundry detergent for all 4 of my batches. I'm going to figure out which one I like best and make sure to get that kind next year when I have to buy laundry detergent again. I also realized that I am now out of dryer sheets. Do I actually need to use them? Or is that one of the things I use because mom always used them? I don't understand what they do... so if someone could enlighten me that would be nice.
13. Tomorrow for dinner I'm making Chicken and Rice. I'm really excited. It will almost be like being at home. Except not. I heard that a particular family I am related to had Simple Elegant Steak and Rice for dinner today. Two members of their family told me that tonight on the phone. I have now added that to the list of food I want to learn how to cook. That would be like being at home too. So mom, I want to learn how to cook it. I'll teach you how to make manicotti if you'll help me learn how to cook a lot of other things this summer, fair enough? It also means I'll help you make dinner sometimes. You should like that. :)
14. This weekend is the Rex Lee Run. It's a run that BYU does to raise money for cancer research. My apartment ran it together last year. It's very close to the anniversary of Brother Halverson passing away, so I would really feel good about doing it, but it costs money and well... I don't have much of that right now.
15. I went to look at birthday cards yesterday because pretty much every missionary I'm writing was born in the month of March. Good birthday cards are hard to come by. I really wanted to buy a "Hey 2 Year old" card, and add either the "0" or "1" after the 2. Those were my favorite cards in the store. It reminded me of the Barney card I gave all of my friends on their 16th birthdays (the card was made for six year olds). Instead of buying the 2 year old card, I decided to just write them letters and write HAPPY BIRTHDAY really big at the bottom. Yes. I'm cheap, but refer back to numbers 14 and 3.
16. My friend Ryan makes really good Chocolate Chip Cookies. I don't know what he does, but they are always the best ever. His apartment made my apartment dinner tonight, so as he always does, he threw some cookies in the oven for dessert. They were the best ever. They were still warm and gooey when we ate them and oh my goodness, they made me really happy.
17. I need to buy a box of Kleenex. I keep sneezing and my nose keeps dripping. It's really annoying. Luckily, it often happens when I'm in bed, so I just wipe my nose on my circus blanket. Man, it's a good thing I brought that bad boy with me to college. I don't what I'd do with all my snot if it wasn't for those crazy clowns.
I think I've come full circle in my thought process now. But now you know pretty much what has been going through my head lately.
I have a big desk calendar like the one we had at home the last few years I lived there. It has something written on every day except for the 18th. I think I'm looking forward to that day now. And the day before it, just because it means I won't have much to get done. Point is... I moved the calendar off my desk and put it on the middle of my floor so nothing covers it up and I can always see the pink, yellow, and orange highlighted events that are coming up.
And on that note... it's time for ward prayer, so I'll end this now. Much love.

You're one busy lady Marci. So good to read your happenings: I was wondering if tests and quizzes had swallowed you whole (which it looks like they might do over the next little while anyway).
Dryer sheets are meant to act as a fabric softener/static reducer. Sometimes I use them and sometimes I use fabric softener in the washing machine instead. I don't recommend using both though. I did that once and my towels were so "soft" that they didn't absorb any of the water and I felt like I had a filmy layer of grime on me too. It's best to just do one or the other. ;)
I agree totally with Joanne's commentary. I am sorry about your drippy nose--you may have inherited some allergies from your ancestors. SORRY!
I will be happy to have you cook and learn to make a few things this summer.
Good luck on all your tests / quizzes / papers, etc. That is a pretty tight schedule you have going for you.
We sent the company all away about an hour ago, and I have EIGHT batches of laundry to do, what with sheets, towels, tablecloths, and the like. What a riot. Stephanie is great--she went running this morning, and it was POURING rain on her by the time she got back (she and her friend Kyndra were sleeping at Grandma's house). It is nice to have a quieter house again--the table is small again, and the high chair is put away in its closet, as are the extra chairs, etc. Company is SUCH fun, but it is always nice to breathe in and out when they leave.
