Something I'll Miss

I've been so excited lately to finish the semester, just ready for a totally different environment for a while. But tonight I recognized something I'm really going to miss.

It's 5:37 am. No, I didn't just wake up. Actually, I'm just getting ready to go to bed. Friday nights RAs work until about 2:00. Mindy was on duty tonight and when she came through my building I had a story to tell her. So I followed her to the last 2 buildings. Then we decided neither of us were tired and neither of us wanted to go to bed. I went home to change into my pjs and she went home to change into her pjs. I then crossed the road to go back to her apartment where we watched 2 movies, ate popcorn, a Betty Crocker Warm Delights Molten Carmel Cake, and laughed like none other.

I love the other RAs I work with, especially Allison and Mindy. They both know just about everything happening in my life, not like it's that complex or anything. Mindy's moving south of campus next year, and Allison is moving even more south of campus. Both of them on the east-ish side (I think). I'm going to be west of campus. We won't be able to have movie parties until 5:30 and then just walk back across the street to get home. Mindy won't be able to watch me through her front door as I safely make it into my back door.

All of this started tonight because I heard Mind going up my stairs. I poked my head out and joined her in the lobby. I bought new jeans earlier this evening and tried them on to show my roommate who didn't go with us, and I was still in them. Mind and I started talking about the jeans and how fabulous they are (I'll post a picture sometime when I'm wearing them and it isn't 5:43 am). I freaking love Mindy! She's only one of my favoritest people ever.

We've got 29 days left. After that... we're not just across the parking lot, or divided by a two lane road that leads into a parking lot.

End of thought process. Brain shutting down. Going to bed now. Mom and Dad have been awake for a while now- and I'm pretty sure that they're already at the temple doing their assignments. And here I am, sitting at my desk in my pjs blogging. I'm going to miss these crazy Friday nights, where I plan on doing homework but end up helping with roves and talking/watching movies all night. Last time Mindy roved (it was a Saturday) we ended up talking until 2:30 or 3 am. A lot of my favorite memories this year involve Mindy. Mind-love ya girl! Good luck waking up for your ward activity :)

You're right--we had been up for three and a half hours (it was 7:30 here in Nauvoo, and had been at the Temple for nearly two hours, having completed our prayer meeting. We had a CRAZY day. Three sessions in a row we had groups that were heavily weighted on the Sisters' side: there has been a women's retreat here, and many were coming to the Temple before they headed home. One session had 42 predicted patrons, but we had 38 SISTERS plus 14 Brothers. That means chairs in the aisles, and needing many extra sister workers. It was SUCH A GREAT DAY! Everyone should try a Saturday morning in the Nauvoo Temple. It's the most fun of the entire week! Well, except for Mutual and being with the YW!

I'm glad that you have grown so close to Mindy and Allison. And I'm sorry that you won't be right next door anymore, for you and for the fact that I won't be able to bother you randomly either. But I'm sure you'll make the most of the month left and that it will be amazing. And yay for crazy random late nights. no pomegranate chip ice cream?

Megan- you can still bother me randomly. We can still blog-stalk each other, and facebook stalk each other, and you have my phone number. I would even come watch your boys for you sometime.
